Unless otherwise noted, the Woman’s Club of York events will be held at the Country Club of York at 11:30 AM on the third Friday of the month. The costs for each program are as follows:

Members: $26.00 – Lunch, Meeting & Program
Guests: $36.00 – Lunch, Meeting & Program

Members have an option to enjoy the meeting and program without lunch at no charge. This option is available to members only.

Fund raising is essential to maintain our mission to engage in philanthropic activities in the greater York area. As always, there will be an array of lovely baskets to be auctioned, plus 50/50 raffle, door prizes, and prizes for card winners. Invite your friends to join you for lunch and card games of your choice. Doors open at 11:30. Please note: this event is at the Out Door Country Club, 1175 Detweiler Dr. York, Pa.

THE GOLDEN AGE OF HOLLYWOOD
11:30 AM

Our speaker is Rich Santel, popular film lecturer at OLLI (Penn State York). Rich has always been interested in Glenn Miller, the Dorsey Brothers and the “Big Band Era.” Since 2012 Rich has facilitated a class called “Hollywood Sampler” for OLLI, “Osher Lifelong Learning Institute” at the Penn State York campus. He will present interesting facts about films from production, casting, critical review and trivia.

Enjoy the talents of some of  our own creative members and how they decorate for holiday events.  You may even have a taste of one of their special holiday  treats and some tips and hints on planning a successful party!   This luncheon will be lots of fun so be sure it’s on your December calendar.

York artist Brenda Wintermyer will share with us her life as an artist. Some of Brenda’s work will be on display and we will feature art work and artists in our own club.

WHY WE LOVE LAVENDAR

Why do we still have a passion for lavendar since Egyptian times? Lisa Weaver of Castle Creek Farm in Dillsburg, PA will be here to tell us all about it! Lavender came to America in the mid- 1600’s and is used for drying, aroma therapy, cooking and many other uses.

 York’s popular historian June Lloyd will present the story of Anna Dill Gamble and the Fight for Woman Suffrage in PA 1914-1915. Don’t miss this chance to learn about Anna who was president of The Woman’s Club of York from 1911-1913.
